"...The future of our global healthcare world lies in the international collaborative
competencies of the next generation of healthcare leaders..." (Dr. Anette Wu, University World News)
Final Conference
Large International conferences
Goal – international public speaking, international listening, cultural competency, networking
The last session will be one large virtual conferences hosted on a weekend that will take place in May.
Video Presentation of Poster
Practice for international public speaking. Because not all groups will be presenting at the conferences we ask that all presentations to be video recorded and uploaded for distribution. You need to work with your group to edit into one presentation.
Here is a suggestion for making the video:
Using Quick time player
It should work with whatever computer has QuickTime Player.
Open QuickTime Player
Click "File" -> "New Movie Recording" and resize the window to one corner of your screen. This is so your face will be seen. No need to press record here.
Click "View -> Float on Top"
Open up your powerpoint presentation and adjust it so the slides and your face can both be seen
Click "File" -> "New Screen Recording"
On the arrow next to the record button, select "Internal Microphone"
Click record button to begin recording.
Follow pop-up instructions to begin and end recording
Save entire video recording
Powerpoint Presentation
This powerpoint presentation is the baseline for your video presentation and consist of the elements of the poster.
-
Power point presentations and videos are due two weeks before the conferences.
-
Please drop off the to the website two weekends before the conferences so the moderators have time to review.
-
Please
-
Drop off your poster on the link that is shared with you by the sNSL.
-
Only one file per group
-
Create a folder for your group and indicate your group number
-
-
Please note topic, groups number and names of students on the first slide.
-
Note that only selected groups will be presenting at the conference and files are shared so groups can view the other groups’ work.
Conference Instructions:
-
All students will login from home. Some cohorts may want to meet as a group. If you wish to do that we still ask that you join in from your own screen so we can see your faces.
-
All program students are expected to attend the full conference
-
Poster award presenters
-
The presenting groups will be contacted by the program a few days before the conferences.
-
The presenting groups will send one or two questions that they want the audience to answer (for example a group that presents on differences in mental health with ask :'What is your knowledge about mental health issues in your country?").
-
-
We will host break out sessions based on the travel locations, led by the "national social leaders" and non travel host students. Travel students should also host and we will allow time for them to connect with the visiting students at the conferences.
-
Total duration of the conferences will not exceed 2 1/2 hours.
The national social leaders will welcome the incoming travel students in a brief welcoming remark on day 2 (5-10 min).
Although this program is a voluntary program we do expect everyone to attend both days. Travel students must attend the full conference in order to be eligible for research lab placements.
To do at the end of the program:
-
Respond to post ICEP questionnaire (link will be shared)
-
Join the next AIT if you can!
-
Join the ICEP LinkedIn for long-term updates
