The Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin stands as the largest university hospital in Europe, housing 3,001 beds. Originating as a plague house outside the gates of Berlin in 1710, it has evolved into one of Europe's oldest hospitals and became renowned for its exceptional research contributions. Consistently ranking among the top medical research institutions worldwide, it holds a place in the top 10 World's Best Hospitals (according to Newsweek rankings)

The Charité spans four campuses throughout Berlin. Situated near major tourist sites, the Charité's high-rise bed tower on Campus Mitte (CCM) stands as an iconic landmark within Berlin's skyline. Campus Virchow Klinikum (CVK) is a hub of innovation and expertise, housing the Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité (DHZC). The DHZC is specialized in providing comprehensive cardiovascular care through its state-of-the-art treatments, multidisciplinary expertise, and collaborative approach to heart health.

Campus Benjamin Franklin (CBF) and Campus Buch (CCB) are also integral facets of the Charité's network. While Campus Benjamin Franklin elevates medical education and research, Campus Buch drives advancements in neuroscience, molecular medicine, and infectious diseases.
